West Ham United’s winger, Mohammed Kudus, who transferred from Ajax for £38 million in August 2023, has received an additional two-game suspension. This decision comes after he admitted to violent conduct subsequent to his red card in a match against Tottenham Hotspur. The incident occurred in the 82nd minute of the game on 19 October at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where West Ham suffered a 4-1 defeat, with Kudus initiating a confrontation. Initially, Kudus was issued a yellow card for a foul committed against Micky van de Ven. However, he subsequently pushed both the Dutch defender and Pape Matar Sarr in the face. This supplementary suspension increases his total ban from three matches to five, making him eligible for his return to play against Leicester City on 3 December. Furthermore, Kudus has incurred a fine of £60,000, and West Ham has been fined £30,000 due to their failure to manage their players’ conduct. The Ghana international has registered two goals across eight Premier League appearances during the current season.
