England wicketkeeper-batter Amy Jones, who has recorded 477 dismissals across T20, List A, and first-class cricket, will play for The Blaze starting in the 2025 season. The 31-year-old, an England international with over 200 caps across all formats, is moving to the Trent Bridge-based team following a four-year tenure with the Central Sparks. This transfer signifies Jones’ return to the East Midlands, as she previously played for Loughborough Lightning. That team was rebranded as The Blaze and moved from its Leicestershire market town base to Nottinghamshire in 2022. Jones commented on the move to the club website, stating: “It’ll definitely help the transition being back with players and staff who I’ve known for a long time – and still play with in some cases. I’m looking forward to being part of it and helping to bring more success to Trent Bridge in whatever way I can.” Jones, who received the Charlotte Edwards Cup Player of the Year award in 2022 after finishing as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, will reunite with England team-mates Tammy Beaumont, Sarah Glenn, and Nat Sciver-Brunt at The Blaze. With this signing, The Blaze now has a total of eight players who previously represented Loughborough Lightning. Her career statistics include more than 3,500 runs at the international level and close to 500 dismissals across all three domestic formats. Currently, she is competing for the Perth Scorchers in Australia’s Women’s Big Bash League.
