Dundee manager Tony Docherty expressed his intention to “sow seeds of doubt” at Pittodrie when his team faces Aberdeen, following Aberdeen’s recent loss which ended their unbeaten start to the season. In their previous encounter this season, Topi Keskinen secured the winning goal. Dundee, currently positioned sixth in the league, will travel north for Saturday night’s match with heightened confidence, having achieved a 3-2 victory over Kilmarnock after initially trailing by two goals. Aberdeen continues to share the top spot with Celtic, despite experiencing their initial defeat under manager Jimmy Thelin, a substantial 6-0 loss to Celtic in the League Cup semi-final. Docherty stated, “Aberdeen deserve enormous credit for what they have done this season so far in terms of their unbeaten run.” He continued, “But their unbeaten run in the cup is now finished, it is my job as Dundee manager to sow those seeds of doubt and try and make sure my team go up there and put in a level of performance that gives us every opportunity to win.” When the two teams last met at Dens Park at the end of September, Dundee suffered a 2-1 defeat, a result they considered unfortunate. Docherty further commented, “We put in a really strong performance and probably should have come out with a positive result from that, but we didn’t.” He concluded, “But having analysed that match and the other games have both played since then, we need to take a lot of confidence from the way we played last time.” Post navigation Postecoglou: Football Management More Challenging Than Prime Ministership Liam Kelly Marks Rangers Debut with ‘Unbelievable’ Performance
