NHS Grampian has reported that a sickness and diarrhoea outbreak at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin is “steadily improving”. Since the outbreak’s confirmation last weekend, the Moray hospital has restricted access to essential visitors only. Reports indicate a decrease in the number of affected patients, while staff members who experienced illness are progressively resuming their duties. Visiting restrictions are set to continue throughout the weekend and are scheduled for review early next week. Essential visitors encompass parents of pediatric patients, relatives of patients receiving end-of-life care, carers and supporters for individuals with dementia or learning disabilities, and supporters for those undergoing pregnancy and childbirth.
