Manchester City midfielder Laura Blindkilde Brown, who previously made over 50 senior appearances for Aston Villa before her 21st birthday, has stated her intention to “showcase” her capabilities while with the England senior squad. The 21-year-old has made a strong impact since joining City from Aston Villa for £200,000 on transfer deadline day in January. This month, the midfielder scored in City’s Women’s Champions League victory over Hammarby and subsequently received her first England call-up from Sarina Wiegman. Blindkilde Brown commented on her approach, saying, “It’s about coming in, working really hard and also enjoying it. At the end of the day, I want to leave camp having no regrets and showcasing what I can do.” She acknowledged that the decision to depart Villa, where she was a regular player, was a “tough” one, but her belief in securing opportunities at City has now proven correct. “It was definitely a tough decision but ultimately I knew it would help me develop as a player,” Blindkilde Brown further explained. She added, “If I just kept developing with the team and showing what I could do, eventually I could get an opportunity. Then it was about taking that opportunity when I was given it.” She also highlighted the role of this season’s competition: “Having the Women’s Champions League this year has helped because the squad depth is being rotated. I’ve been getting more opportunities which has definitely helped.” Post navigation Frail Provides Positive Update on Slattery’s Training Return Jim Goodwin Discusses Rangers Draw, Player Contracts, and Ross Graham’s Return Ahead of St Mirren Match
