The former residence of Jurgen Klopp, the ex-manager of Liverpool, has achieved a notable distinction on Merseyside: the opulent mansion he previously occupied is now the most-viewed property listing on a prominent real estate website. This extensive property, situated in Freshfield, Sefton, is listed for £4.25m and includes amenities such as a swimming pool complex, a bar area, and a cutting-edge gymnasium. Klopp, aged 57, departed the football club in May, having secured eight trophies over a nine-year period, among them the Champions League and the Reds’ inaugural Premier League title. According to the property firm Rightmove, the mansion garnered the highest number of online visits on its platform during the last year. Klopp, known for his charismatic personality and having become an adopted Scouser during his tenure in the UK, departed to assume a role with Red Bull. He subsequently acquired a villa on the island of Majorca, where he recently shared on a German news podcast his and his wife’s aspiration to transform it into an “eco-friendly family home.” The mock Georgian residence on the esteemed Victoria Road also incorporates a distinct structure for hosting guests and numerous other amenities, which are characterized on the website as “the ultimate relaxation oasis.” The interior design and architectural style of the property span from a luxurious hotel aesthetic to a design typically found in a high-end conference center. William Goulden, a property agent, stated: “This is an exceptional home in a beautiful part of the country. “Many will be aware of the property’s recent history, and we look forward to playing a part in its future.”” Among other properties on Rightmove that have garnered significant interest are a former abbey in Oxfordshire, listed for £15m, and a renovated 19th-century Grade II-listed Georgian house located in Knightsbridge, London. The latter is situated on Britain’s most expensive street, where the typical asking price is £9.6m. Tim Bannister, a property expert at Rightmove, commented: “From a luxurious former football manager’s residence to a historic Grade I listed abbey, the most viewed homes of the year reflect the wide-ranging dreams of home-hunters this year across Britain. “Whether it’s a property fit for royalty opposite Buckingham Palace, or a stunning family home, these remarkable listings showcase the unique charm and diversity of the UK housing market.”” Audiences can listen to the best of BBC Radio Merseyside on Sounds and connect with BBC Merseyside on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
