Vaclav Cerny’s goal tally for Rangers this season is surpassed only by Cyriel Dessers. Manager Philippe Clement stated that winger Vaclav Cerny “loves it” at Rangers, yet he declined to address inquiries concerning the Czech winger’s potential to stay at Ibrox past the current season. Cerny arrived at Rangers on a loan agreement from Wolfsburg in July, and he has since netted nine goals across 22 matches for Clement’s team. His contract with the German club extends until 2027. Clement drew a parallel to Abdallah Sima’s loan period at Rangers from Brighton last season, highlighting the Senegalese forward’s significant enjoyment of his time at Ibrox. Nevertheless, Clement suggested that the necessary funds were not accessible to secure either Sima or Cerny on permanent contracts during the summer transfer window. Regarding Cerny, Clement remarked, “He loves it here, clearly.” He added, “He told me also last week that he’s never felt better in his whole career than now – physically, mentally, in the team, in the dressing room, with the staff, in the club, with the fans.” Clement further stated, “But of course, he has a contract with another club at the end of the season so that’s negotiations again.”
