Jason Allum, identified by police as an “aggressive beggar,” has been incarcerated following an incident where he spat at a woman. Mr. Allum, residing in Edgecombe, Cambridge, received a prison sentence of two years and one month. The 38-year-old admitted guilt to charges of assault and to violating his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) on 14 separate occasions during the period from 12 July to 2 August. Among these incidents, one occurred on 27 July, when he spat at a woman, who was not known to him, in Petty Cury within the city. PC Laura O’Flynn stated that Allum had received “supported extensively” from professionals across various sectors, including police, probation, housing, mental health services, and drug and alcohol services. She further commented, “Despite extensive work to assist and support him, Allum has continued to breach the CBO, and this sentence today reflects the impact his behaviour is having within our community.” The police force confirmed that all 14 incidents were recorded on CCTV footage.
