Personnel working offshore have been removed from a rig situated off the coast of Aberdeen, subsequent to a collision involving a supply vessel. Harbour Energy reported that 52 “non-essential personnel” were taken off its Valaris 120 installation, located approximately 150 miles east of Aberdeen. The company stated that 128 individuals were present on the jackup rig before the incident, which occurred around 22:20 on Sunday, confirming that everyone was “safe and well”. The Valaris 120 is operating in conjunction with the Judy platform, which handles gas production and processing activities. A spokesperson for Harbour Energy commented: “The non-essential personnel have been flown to Aberdeen on three separate flights.” “Our incident response teams have been mobilised and are in liaison with the relevant authorities.” “People are our priority, and everyone onboard the rig and the vessel is safe and well.” Harbour Energy subsequently confirmed that production remained unaffected. The Valaris 120 is categorized as a jackup rig—a type of platform capable of extending its legs to the seabed to establish a stable foundation above the water’s surface.
