Organisers have announced that a music festival, which has previously hosted artists such as Jess Glynne, Olly Murs, and Chase & Status, will not take place next year. The Sundown Festival had been scheduled for 29 August at the Norfolk Showground, located near Norwich. Nevertheless, the organisers stated that the event has been called off, and refunds for tickets already bought will be “processed automatically.” A declaration posted on the festival’s official website characterized its 12-year history as an “unforgettable journey.” The statement further elaborated: “What started as humble beginnings grew into a five-stage camping festival, partnering with iconic music brands and artists, surviving a pandemic, and even taking Sundown to Malta.” It continued: “We want to express our deepest gratitude… Most of all, a huge thank thank you to our fans — you’ve been the heartbeat of Sundown.” The statement concluded this sentiment by saying: “Your energy, passion, and memories have made everything possible, and we’ll never forget the moments we shared together.” The festival commenced in 2013, following the renaming of its predecessor, Norfolk Spectacular. Over time, it evolved into one of the largest festivals in the region, drawing thousands of attendees annually. According to the organisers, multiple factors led to this decision, which “affected our ability to deliver the high standards our fans have come to expect.” The statement specified: “The rising costs of production, along with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, have significantly impacted Sundown’s future, as they have many other festivals in recent years.”
