On Wednesday, Manchester City icon Georgi Kinkladze is scheduled to answer questions submitted by fans. This segment delves into his cherished memories from his tenure in Manchester. Darryl inquired, “Who were your favourite teammates?” Kinkladze responded, “I’m still in contact with Nicky Sumerbee, Michael Brown, Paul Dickov, and Kit Symons. It was a very friendly team of good players but also good boys. I really miss those days, I’m always happy to see them.” Mark then asked, “What was your favourite moment at City?” Kinkladze stated, “Your first game is always special – and scoring your first goal to win a game is always special too. My first game was against Tottenham Hotspur – it was an amazing atmosphere. To come from Georgia and experience that was amazing. My first goal I scored was a 91st-minute winner against Aston Villa, so that was special.” A question was posed regarding his renowned goal against Southampton: “Can you talk me through that famous goal against Southampton? Did you intend to take on five defenders and lob the goalkeeper?” Kinkladze clarified, “No! These kind of things come in on the field. When I got the ball, I never had in my head that I would pass one, two, three players. It just happened.I also scored a good goal away at Middlesbrough – it was similar. I passed two or three defenders and scored.”
