Pedestrian Dies in Earls Barton Collision, Man Arrested

A man has been taken into custody following the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in the early hours of Sunday. Northamptonshire Police reported that the incident occurred at 01:55 GMT on the A4500 in Earls Barton. The force specified that a black Ford pickup collided with the pedestrian near the junction with Wellingborough Road. The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 60-year-old man from Wellingborough has been arrested in connection with the event. Authorities confirmed his arrest was for driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit and causing death by driving without due care or consideration while over specified limit.
