An official inquiry has commenced concerning the deaths of two women who lost their lives after a vehicle veered off a road and struck a tree in Norfolk. Sara Isabel Jordao Ribeiro, aged 29, who was a passenger in the Mini One, succumbed to her injuries at the crash site near Ketteringham on November 3. The vehicle’s driver, Sara Sofia Das Neves Pancas, 38, passed away at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge two days later. The inquest was postponed at Norfolk Coroner’s Court on Monday; a complete inquiry into the deaths is set for May 19. Evidence presented to the court indicated that Ms Pancas and Ms Ribeiro, who shared an address at Bidwell Court in Thetford, succumbed to injuries suffered during the impact, which occurred on the A11. In statements of remembrance, Ms Pancas’s family characterized her as “fun loving” and “full of joy”. Ms Ribeiro’s mother remembered her as a “loving, caring person”. Norfolk Police reported that another female passenger in her twenties and a male passenger in his thirties also sustained severe injuries and are still hospitalized. The police department appealed to anyone who observed the incident to come forward.
