A constable has stated that a parish has incurred an approximate loss of £2,500 following the theft of eight road signs. The Parish of St Saviour reported that the signs, which are predominantly constructed from aluminium, were removed from Mont de la Rosiere, La Rue de Deloraine, La Rue de la Parade, La Rue des Pigneaux, La Rue de la Commune, New York Lane, and two signs from Le Mont es Neaux. Constable Kevin Lewis explained that the signs are costly to manufacture and possess no scrap value because of their composition. He appealed to anyone possessing the signs or having knowledge of their whereabouts to contact him, the parish hall, or the States of Jersey Police. Lewis also mentioned that the parish has received reports in recent weeks concerning other signs being interfered with at private properties, as well as roadside speed indicator devices, which he stated could “directly affect people’s lives”. He indicated that if the signs are not located or given back, the parish will be responsible for their replacement costs. He reiterated, “They are very expensive to produce and they have no value to anyone else whatsoever.” He added, “This has been going on for a few weeks now and we really need to stamp this out.” Post navigation Serial Abuser Sentenced to 16 Years, Including First Scottish “Stealthing” Conviction Six individuals imprisoned following man’s ‘senseless’ killing
