Marvin Bartley stated that David Gray is aware “he’s running out of time” in his role as Hibs head coach, following the team’s 4-1 loss to Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday. Bartley expressed continued belief that his former Hibs teammate could reverse the team’s fortunes, but emphasized the necessity of securing a positive outcome in one of their upcoming two matches, scheduled against Aberdeen on Tuesday and Motherwell on Saturday. Bartley informed the BBC’s Scottish Football Podcast, “On his tenure so far, Dave will know that they’ve not picked up enough points.” He added, “You get out of football what you deserve. Dave will know that he’s running out of time.” Bartley continued, “He will really, really want to turn it around on a professional level, but also a personal level. It’s not been good enough. There’s no doubt about it.” He further remarked, “There’s a lot that’s been said about what’s happened in the boardroom level and above them, but in terms of the squad that they have they shouldn’t be bottom of the league.” Bartley stressed, “They can’t continue to lose games. They’ve got Aberdeen on Tuesday, Motherwell on Saturday, they need some results straight away.” Hibs currently occupy the bottom position in the league standings, having accumulated only eight points from their thirteen league fixtures. While the Easter Road team was not considered a strong candidate for relegation at the season’s outset, Bartley cautioned that reputation holds no weight, and players must elevate their performance levels for the team’s situation to improve. Bartley additionally stated, “They need to start winning games and start winning them quickly because no team’s too good to go down.” He elaborated, “It just doesn’t work in football.” He continued, “We’ve seen it before, they’re in a real relegation battle at this moment in time and until they get themselves further up the league, they can’t say they’re not.” Bartley concluded, “It’s time they show how much they really care about the manager. Are they really willing to go out there and work for him and keep him in the job?” Post navigation Albrighton on Duran’s ‘Golden Touch’ Amidst Goal Surge Judd Trump Claims Second UK Championship Title Against Barry Hawkins
