Customers of South East Water have received an invitation to meet with the company’s senior leadership to discuss the region’s drinking water provisions. The general public and stakeholders are also invited to attend a virtual meeting, where they can pose questions about the company and its £1.9 billion five-year investment plan. This meeting, titled “Behind the Tap: Your Drinking Water Questions Answered,” is scheduled for Tuesday, from 18:00 GMT to 20:00. South East Water serves approximately 2.3 million customers across East and West Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, and Berkshire. A company spokesperson indicated that this event offers customers an opportunity to ask questions regarding the plan, which is currently undergoing review by Ofwat, the water regulator. The spokesperson stated, “Over recent years, the south east of England has seen a significant change in the climate, a growing population and big shift in people’s working habits that means that more people are working from home, rather than perhaps commuting to London.” He further added, “More recently, we’ve all had to face up to the challenges of the cost of living crisis. All of these factors affect how South East Water supplies drinking water to you.” While attendance is free, customers are required to register online.
