Manchester City’s playmaker, Kevin de Bruyne, acknowledged that “everyone is down about the five losses” but stressed the necessity for the team to “have to move on” and strive to improve their performances. The Belgian international described the recent period as “a bit chaotic” rather than “dark.” He observed numerous individuals frequenting the medical area, engaging in discussions about player availability, and noted that “so many people playing who shouldn’t have been playing.” De Bruyne characterized the matches against Sporting, Brighton, and Bournemouth as “all over the place.” He added that the team’s form appeared stable before the Tottenham fixture, which was then followed by a defeat. He remarked that “Yesterday was a bit quiet” and that he “didn’t see too much change” today, reiterating that “Everyone is a bit down about the five losses but we have to take it and move on.” Reflecting on City’s defensive issues, De Bruyne further explained: “With the way we play, you have to accept there’s more opportunity for teams to have a counter. You can’t do high pressing and not leave space behind and at the moment, we’re not dealing with this in the right way.” He concluded by stating, “We’re always going to give a chance away but we’re giving it away too many times. When they are coming in front of our goal it is basically a goal – we have to resolve that as soon as possible”
