Law enforcement officials have apprehended seven individuals as part of an investigation conducted by police regarding the theft of prescription drugs valued at £350,000 from pharmaceutical establishments located in east Lancashire. According to Lancashire Police, five males and two females, ranging in age from 21 to 35, are currently detained in connection with thefts occurring at two locations, specifically, one in Pendle and the other in Rossendale. These seven apprehended suspects, five of whom are employed by pharmacies, face charges related to offences such as employee theft, conspiracy to distribute Class B and C controlled substances, and money laundering. Detective Sergeant Josh Boswell, affiliated with Burnley CID, stated that the detentions represent “significant point in what remains a complex investigation”. Previous police operations conducted in Nelson, Barnoldswick, and Blackburn led to the confiscation of cellular phones, a specific amount of Class B and Class C controlled substances, currency, and high-end goods. All individuals who were apprehended continue to be held in custody.
