A project to replace a gas main, lasting eight months, is scheduled to commence in mid-November. This seven-phase undertaking on Woolsbridge Road in Ashley Heath, Dorset, will involve traffic restrictions throughout its entire duration. SGN, the gas company, announced that a section of the road would be fully closed for the initial phase, running from Monday, November 18, to Friday, December 20. The company stated that the project entails substituting existing metal gas pipes with new plastic ones to “ensure we can continue to provide a safe and efficient gas supply”. For the subsequent six phases, which will extend until Friday, July 11, 2025, portions of the road will also be inaccessible to southbound traffic. SGN issued an apology for any disruption resulting from the work. The seven distinct phases will involve the closure of various sections of the road. SGN confirmed that vehicle access to properties within the construction zone would be upheld, and refuse collections would remain undisturbed. Nevertheless, bus services are expected to be affected, and individuals are advised to verify specific details with their respective bus companies.
