Fabian Hurzeler, the manager of Brighton, expressed his optimism for academy product Jack Hinshelwood’s significant future with both his club, the Seagulls, and the national team. With England’s squad for the forthcoming games against Greece and the Republic of Ireland due to be revealed on Thursday, Hurzeler addressed media inquiries regarding Hinshelwood’s prospects with the Three Lions. During a news conference, when questioned about the England Under-21 international, Hurzeler stated, “In understanding the game, recognising the spaces, having a good touch and passing, he is already one of the best.” He further elaborated, “Now it’s about finding the consistency, showing these actions over 90 minutes. What he is doing so far is impressive and he is a big part of the future of this club and hopefully for the national team as well. I will call Thomas [Tuchel, incoming England manager] and give him advice on this player.” Hurzeler also faced questions concerning the other young midfielders within his squad, reiterating his firm stance against treating them differently from the more experienced members of his playing group. He further commented, “For me it’s not about age, it’s about being good or not and the players on the pitch deserve to play.” He continued, “It’s not about treating them like young players because in the end we need to win games. In the midfield, they can change the dynamic of the game and break the dynamic of the opponents.” Hurzeler concluded by emphasizing, “Even when they are young, I demand that they ask for the ball and continue playing with courage. This is the way that they improve in these tough moments, to show personality and not being afraid of making mistakes.” Post navigation Aston Villa Manager Unai Emery Addresses Consistency, John McGinn, and Russell Martin Marcus Rashford’s Future at Manchester United: Current Situation and Challenges
