A man with a history of violence against women has been sentenced to 10 and a half years in prison. Shane Youll, aged 37, was convicted by a jury at Teesside Crown Court on several charges, among them rape and sexual assault. Judge Joanne Kidd stated that Youll, residing at Cotswold Terrace in Stanley, County Durham, was driven by his “warped views of women” and drug addiction. Judge Kidd further commented that Youll displayed no understanding of his actions, which were designed to “humiliate and degrade” and instill fear in his vulnerable victim.
