Suffolk is set to receive its inaugural banking hub, with an additional four locations slated for future development. This facility in Haverhill is scheduled for its official inauguration at The Chauntry Centre, situated near High Street, on Tuesday, November 12. The hub will feature representation from five major banking institutions. Cash Access UK, the entity spearheading this initiative, indicated intentions to establish subsequent hubs in Hadleigh, Leiston, Mildenhall, and Woodbridge. Gareth Oakley, chief executive of Cash Access UK, stated: “I’m delighted that that the permanent banking hub in Haverhill is now open.”I’d like to thank the library for being hospitable while we were getting the new home ready.”Customers can visit on any day of the week for their everyday banking transactions and, if you have a specific or more complex inquiry for your bank, a community banker will be there to help on the day they’re in the hub.” This hub’s establishment follows the closure of the town’s final bank branch in June. Community bankers will be present at the location on a rotational basis. Additionally, a counter service managed by the Post Office will be available, enabling customers from all principal banks to utilize banking services from Monday through Friday, between 09:00 and 17:00 GMT.
