Coastal communities located along the Humber Estuary are set to receive £85,000 in government funding. This money is designated to finance initiatives that foster careers, education, training, and skills, with the goal of attracting more individuals into the maritime sector, as stated by the Department for Transport. The Humber Estuary region is one of nine across the United Kingdom that will share a portion of the government’s total £1 million fund, which is specifically dedicated to “growth and innovation” within the industry. Maritime Minister Mike Kane expressed his hope that these funds would “deliver jobs, skills and training for local communities and turbocharge growth by delivering investment into the sector”.
