Nottinghamshire Police officers have issued an appeal for information following the discovery of multiple deceased birds of prey. The force stated that a member of the public notified them on December 10 about the birds, which were found near the village of Bunny under “suspicious and unnatural circumstances”. The police force has encouraged individuals who have observed any suspicious animal carcasses to contact them. A warning was also issued to the public and dog owners, advising them against allowing their pets or other animals to make contact with the birds, due to the potential presence of poison. Furthermore, officers recommended that any findings of illegal snares, traps, or indications of disturbance to badger setts or bird nests should be reported to the authorities.
