An electronic waste recycling facility is contributing to the diversion of discarded electrical goods from landfill sites. Enva, situated in Spittlegate Level, Grantham, processes unwanted electricals from local residents, including household appliances, obsolete technology, and surplus cables. Electrical devices comprise various materials that are suitable for separation and recycling into new products, such as plastics and valuable metals like gold, steel, and copper. According to Jon Parsons, Enva’s chief financial officer, the process of excavating and refining new raw materials is “hugely energy intensive.” He further stated, “If we can separate that copper, we can put that almost directly back into manufacturing.” Post navigation Cheltenham Waste Collections Delayed by Two Weeks Over Christmas Extensive Waste Discovered at Devon Nature Reserve
