Certain households in Cheltenham will experience a two-week delay in their waste collection services during the upcoming Christmas period. Cheltenham Borough Council has released details of its revised waste collection schedule, which will be in effect from December 23 to January 3, with regular collections resuming on January 6. Residents may place additional refuse in black bags and sorted recycling in plastic bags of carrier bag size alongside their bins at the kerbside on the day of their updated collection. Councillor Izaac Tailford commented that this approach will “allow waste and recycling teams to enjoy some proper time off”. No alterations have been made to collections scheduled for December 23 and 24. However, collections originally set for December 25, 26, and 27 have been postponed by precisely two weeks, now scheduled for January 8, 9, and 10, respectively. Collections planned for December 30 and 31 will proceed as usual. Nevertheless, waste designated for collection during the first three days of January will be collected one day later than its original schedule. For flat and bin store collections initially planned for December 25, 26, and 27, an additional collection will be provided the following week, on December 30 and 31. Garden waste collections will be suspended at the close of Friday, December 20, and are slated to recommence on Monday, January 20.
