James Penrice, who joined Hearts during the summer, acknowledges that his arrival may not have generated the same excitement as that of some other new team members. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old former Livingston defender has significantly contributed to a positive atmosphere in Gorgie. Known for his consistent performance and offensive capabilities on the left flank, Penrice has established a solid beginning to his career in Edinburgh. However, he aims for more than just a steady period, expressing a desire for his time at Hearts to be exceptional and “remembered.” Speaking to HeartsTV, Penrice stated, “I want the club to do so well.” He further elaborated on his aspirations, saying, “I don’t want to come into Hearts and remember, when I finish my career, a time that wasn’t successful. I want it to be a successful time. I want it to be remembered when I leave.” Despite the team’s current position near the bottom of the Premiership, second-lowest, and a generally unremarkable domestic performance this season, Penrice maintains an optimistic outlook regarding the situation at Gorgie. He further commented, “We just need to go and put a good run of form together.” Penrice identified a specific area for improvement, stating, “It’s just that last bit that we’ve not seemed to crack yet, and I think you saw it against St Mirren. We were brilliant, but maybe at Rangers last time out, we should probably have walked away with something more.” Penrice emphasized the team’s mindset when playing away, particularly at venues like Ibrox, asserting, “That’s telling for us going to a place like Ibrox. There should be no fear because we’re a big club and we want to go to these places and and take points.” Penrice believes that if he and Hearts begin to secure victories in Glasgow, one of his personal ambitions, which is to represent his country, could become a reality. He stated, “Playing for Scotland is one of my dreams and I see no reason why I can’t.” Penrice acknowledged the challenge, adding, “I think it’ll be definitely difficult, it’ll be more hard work, but that’s one of my aims.” Post navigation Fan Reactions to Tottenham’s 2-1 EFL Cup Victory Over Manchester City Kettering Sports Pitch Secures £1 Million for Revival After Five-Year Closure
