England’s interim manager, Lee Carsley, has revealed a 26-player roster for the forthcoming Nations League fixtures against Greece and the Republic of Ireland. Lewis Hall, a left-back from Newcastle, and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, a centre-back from Southampton, have earned their initial call-ups to the senior national team. Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale is among the three goalkeepers selected. The only other player in the squad without a previous cap is Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, while Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was not included. These two matches will mark Carsley’s final assignments as interim manager before Thomas Tuchel assumes the role of Gareth Southgate’s permanent successor, effective from 1 January. The midfield contingent includes: Conor Gallagher (Atletico Madrid), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), Angel Gomes (Lille), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Curtis Jones (Liverpool).
