Swansea City head coach Luke Williams has indicated substantial interest in the club’s vacant sporting director position, which became open after Paul Watson’s departure. Watson left the Championship club just over three weeks ago, having held the role for a period of 16 months. Swansea chairman Andy Coleman has refrained from discussing Watson’s exit with the media. Nevertheless, he is understood to be leading the search for a successor alongside chief of staff Ken Gude. When asked about the progress Swansea has made in finding Watson’s replacement, Williams stated: “I know there are many, many applicants.“There’s a process to follow to shorten down that list and then in the very near future people will be interviewed for the role and we go from there.”
