Ulster centre Ben Carson has extended his contract for three years, securing his presence at the club through 2028. The 22-year-old Carson first started a senior match in October and contributed two tries during Ulster’s United Rugby Championship loss to Leinster in late November. Hailing from Lisburn, he was part of the Ireland Under-20s squad that achieved a Six Nations Grand Slam in 2022, coached by Richie Murphy, who is now Ulster’s head coach. Carson, who was absent from Ulster’s Investec Champions Cup defeat against Bordeaux last weekend due to an injury, stated: “I’m so excited for what the future holds. It’s been a dream of mine since I was young to play for Ulster, and this season I have earned more opportunities to stake my claim.” He added, “For me, I want to keep developing my game and establish myself within the team in the months ahead.” Bryn Cunningham, Ulster’s general manager, expressed that the club is “delighted” and “excited to see how he grows in the Ulster jersey.” Cunningham further commented: “He is a tenacious centre, who is busy around the park and has undoubtedly been one of the biggest improvers in our squad over the last 6-12 months.” He concluded, “That growth has translated into strong recent performances and Ben putting his hand up for selection every week.” Post navigation Kyle Walker Commends Rodri’s Ballon d’Or Recognition Warne Outlines Strategy to Pressure Luton Early
