Former Manor Formula 1 team boss Graeme Lowdon is slated to become the team principal for the upcoming Cadillac team, which is anticipated to make its debut in 2026. The 59-year-old has been instrumental in the development of this project, which has secured an agreement in principle to join F1 as a works team representing the American automotive giant General Motors. Lowdon previously managed the Manor team in F1 through various iterations, from its entry as Virgin in 2010 until 2015. He and his partner, John Booth, departed before the team’s final season in 2016. In other news, the Chinese Grand Prix has been granted a new contract, ensuring its presence on the F1 schedule until 2030. The race, held at the Shanghai International Circuit, returned to the calendar this year, marking its first appearance since 2019. It was removed from the schedule during the Covid-19 pandemic and remained absent longer than most events due to China’s distinctive approach to managing the disease.
