A 13-year-old girl sustained stab wounds, leading to the apprehension of six teenagers on suspicion of attempted murder. Humberside Police reported that the girl was discovered by the A63 dual carriageway in Hessle around 06:50 GMT on Friday. The police force stated she had “lacerations” to her neck, chest, and abdomen, and her condition is considered “life-threatening”. Shortly thereafter, four boys, aged 14, 15, 16, and 17, along with two girls, aged 14 and 15, were taken into custody in a close-by wooded area. Detective Superintendent Simon Vickers indicated his belief that the assailants were known to the victim, who remains in a critical condition in hospital. He stated, “I understand this incident will rightly cause concerns amongst the community and I would like to offer my assurances that as a part of our initial investigation we have six individuals in custody who are all being questioned by detectives.” He added, “At this time, we do believe the attackers knew the victim and inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the incident.” Det Supt Vickers extended gratitude to individuals who assisted the severely injured teenager at the roadside prior to the arrival of emergency services. Investigative searches were conducted in a vicinity close to the Hull Humber View Hotel in North Ferriby, adjacent to Hessle. The police force has issued an appeal for anyone possessing information, especially those with dashcam or CCTV recordings, to get in touch with law enforcement. A police cordon has been established around the wooded section situated off Ferriby High Road. As evening descended upon North Ferriby, approximately 12 police officers persisted in searching land adjacent to the A63 until around 18:00 GMT. This particular area is characterized by numerous intersecting busy roads and scattered woodland pockets. The search commenced in a field located between the railway line and the dual carriageway, subsequently expanding into the adjacent wooded terrain. Officers were observed moving in and out of a nearby hotel – the Hull Humber View Hotel – which seemed to be serving as a provisional operational hub for personnel engaged in the investigation, active since initial reports of the stabbing surfaced nearly 12 hours prior.
