Police have confirmed the arrest of a man following a bomb threat directed at a college, which led to students being placed in lockdown. Officers from Hampshire police responded to The Sixth Form College Farnborough at 11:35 GMT and recommended its immediate closure. The force subsequently reported that no explosive devices were discovered after a search, and no injuries were reported. They further stated that the threat had been resolved, and the college was no longer under lockdown. A 40-year-old man from Farnborough has been taken into custody on suspicion of making threats to kill, where he currently remains. Police indicated that other schools in the vicinity were alerted as a precautionary measure and also entered lockdown before the threat was stood down. The college announced that examinations had been cancelled as a consequence of the incident but confirmed that operations were now returning to normal.
