The Christmas tree festival is set to return to Hull Minster in December. This yearly event, organized by the Lord Mayor, will feature numerous decorated trees displayed throughout the 700-year-old church. Businesses, organizations, and individuals have the opportunity to participate by supplying a tree, which can be adorned during the dedicated set-up day on Monday, December 2. The public is invited to attend the free event, which will run from December 3 to December 21. The minster’s regular opening hours are from 10:00 until 16:00 GMT, Tuesday through Saturday. A contribution of £10 per tree will be allocated to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund, which this year is providing support to Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University and Cruse Bereavement Support. The Lord Mayor, Councillor Mark Collinson, stated: “This is a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit.“We want to spread communal goodwill and festive joy.” Listen to highlights from Hull and East Yorkshire on BBC Sounds, watch the latest episode of Look North or tell us about a story you think we should be covering here.Copyright 2024 BBC.
