A motorist passed away after being involved in a collision, having not complied with a request to stop from a marked police vehicle. According to Avon and Somerset Police, the individual, a man in his twenties operating a black BMW 5 series, struck a tree on the A370 at Flax Bourton on November 6. He was transported to a medical facility, where he succumbed to his injuries on November 15. The police force confirmed it has self-referred the matter to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). Authorities also reported that a passenger from the car received hospital care as a precautionary measure. A police spokesperson further stated that the deceased man’s immediate family members are receiving assistance from specially-trained family liaison officers.
