Beccles Jewellery Store Targeted in Smash-and-Grab Burglary

Police have indicated that “smash-and-grab” perpetrators stole nearly the entire inventory of a jewellery establishment. Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at Oliver and J Jewellers, located on Blyburgate in Beccles, Suffolk, at 01:30 GMT. It was reported that two males gained forcible entry into the premises, triggering the burglar alarm. They subsequently absconded with “a large quantity” of jewellery, according to police statements. The individuals believed to be responsible are thought to have departed the location in a vehicle. Suffolk Police has initiated an inquiry into the incident and has urged any witnesses to come forward. The storefront of the shop has since been secured with boards. This establishment was previously targeted six years prior when masked men confronted the shop’s owner at knifepoint, though they were unsuccessful in stealing any items at that time.
