Community health services in Medway have disconnected their information technology (IT) system following the detection of “suspicious activity.” Medway Community Healthcare (MCH) announced it is investigating the matter and has taken action to “protect patient and staff data.” Patients have received assurances that all scheduled appointments will proceed “unless you are told otherwise,” according to MCH. MCH is responsible for providing community health services to Medway residents, including the provision of health visitors, district nurses, speech and language therapists, and urgent out-of-hours care. MCH stated: “Earlier this week we told you that we detected some suspicious activity relating to our IT systems. “As a precaution, we therefore disconnected our systems to protect patient and staff data.”This investigation is ongoing.” Individuals scheduled for a blood test have been instructed to bring a paper form, as the appointment cannot proceed without it. Anyone who was expecting a home visit and has not yet received it is encouraged to contact MCH. They further added: “Please bear with us, and be patient.”
