Sunderland’s head coach, Regis Le Bris, expressed satisfaction with securing a point following a “tough” visit to Deepdale, which marked the club’s second goalless draw within a four-day period. On Wednesday, The Black Cats found it challenging to establish themselves in the game against Preston North End, with the Championship side, positioned near the bottom of the league, demonstrating dominance during the initial half. “It was another tough away game against a strong team. We struggled during the first half to apply a high pressure and we conceded many situations,” Le Bris stated in an interview with BBC Radio Newcastle. In the 62nd minute, Le Bris adjusted his attacking lineup by bringing in Romaine Mundle and Patrick Roberts. The duo’s nearest attempt at a goal came from Roberts’ shot in injury time, which compelled Preston’s goalkeeper Freddie Woodman to make a save. Nevertheless, Le Bris was content with the influence they had on the game. He further commented, “During the second half, it was much better. We changed the structure and the energy was better with the substitutions.” He concluded, “It wasn’t enough to score but at the end, it’s a good point.”
