Volunteers have successfully re-erected a fallen Christmas tree at a Lincolnshire church, following an online appeal issued by its vicar. Father Stuart Cradduck, Rector at St Wulfram’s in Grantham, reported that the tree had toppled on Monday after a gust of wind moved through the church. After encountering difficulty in raising the 23ft (7m) fir, Father Cradduck posted a plea for assistance on Facebook. Volunteers, including individuals from schools and local businesses, utilized ladders and a cherry picker to return the tree to its vertical position. The church indicated that strong winds, which entered through the open main doors, were responsible for blowing the tree over. At the time, Father Cradduck commented: “Luckily, no-one was hurt.” St Wulfram’s later conveyed its thanks in a social media post to everyone who assisted, acknowledging their “tree-mendous” efforts.
