Thames Water announced that water supplies have been restored to residential properties, educational institutions, and commercial establishments following the repair of a burst pipe. The substantial pipeline was deactivated to facilitate repairs and reinstate service to the RG4 and RG9 postcode sectors of Sonning Common and Henley-on-Thames, which occurred on Monday afternoon. Thames Water issued an apology and confirmed that the pipe, situated just off Reade’s Lane in Sonning Common, had been mended during the night. By Tuesday afternoon, the utility company reported that water pressure was normalizing. A station providing bottled water, located at Tesco in Henley, which had resumed operations on Tuesday morning, ceased distribution at 14:30 GMT. Mohammed Malik, a 62-year-old resident of Caversham, stated that his water supply resumed at 17:00 on Monday, but “when I got up at about 7am it had disappeared.” He further commented: “There was no water at all I couldn’t flush the toilet or get a glass or water.” He added: “There was no thought on the timing about this – why didn’t they think about everybody getting to work and going to school.” The water utility had previously issued a statement: “Our team is continuing to check the pressure in some area’s where we have been receiving reports of no water, we are doing this as quickly as we can.” Post navigation Guernsey Reports Increase in Part-Time Employment Channel Islands Post Offices Gear Up for Christmas Deliveries
