Brighton manager Dario Vidosic has stated his belief that a top-three finish in the Women’s Super League is “possible” for his team this season. The club currently holds the third position in the WSL, having secured four wins from their initial six matches. Brighton, which finished ninth last season under interim boss Mikey Harris, is presently only three points behind Manchester City, the current league leaders. When questioned about the realism of achieving a top-three finish this season, Vidosic responded: “If we continue on the path, I think it is. Until it’s impossible, it’s possible.” He further added: “The results, again, they’re never certainties, especially in a league as tough as ours, where the biggest clubs have had troubles every week.” On Sunday, Brighton secured a 1-0 victory against Leicester, a performance that was observed by Fabian Hurzeler, the head coach of the club’s men’s team. Vidosic commented on Hurzeler’s presence, stating: “It’s awesome, especially he’s just come back from Anfield and I can imagine, mentally very fatigued when you go and play Liverpool,” He continued, “Throughout this week, I’ve sat down, spoke with him, spoke about the game, asked him if he saw something.” Vidosic added, “To top it all off, he’s preparing for Manchester City and Pep [Guardiola] this weekend, and he’s still willing to sit down with me, give me some time to talk about, our team and how we can progress.” Concluding his remarks, Vidosic said, “I’ve got nothing but the best of words for him. He’s a world class coach, but he’s an even better person.”
