Lennon Miller might find himself seeking a discussion with his father. Lee Miller has recently, and justifiably, dedicated significant attention to extolling his son’s abilities, but the focus has now shifted to another promising young athlete. Having progressed through Scotland’s youth ranks alongside Lennon Miller, Ben Doak’s exceptional abilities as a winger have been directly observed by Lee Miller. Although the Tartan Army has long anticipated his potential, 19-year-old Doak has now showcased his capabilities on the international stage. The Liverpool player, currently on loan at Middlesbrough, distinguished himself amidst several strong Scotland performances, making his national team appearances seem effortless. However, Lee Miller has consistently believed it was only a matter of time until Doak would represent the senior Scotland squad. On the BBC’s Scottish football podcast, the former Scotland striker stated: “I’ve watched him for a good few years now and he is the best I’ve seen at dribbling and running with the ball.” He further elaborated on Doak’s attributes, saying: “He’s exciting, he’s got a complete no fear mindset of who he plays against. You get the same Ben Doak each time, he just wants to attack and go. “That kind of breeds confidence throughout the full team, too. I think if you’ve got a player that can carry the ball like that, you want to give them it constantly.” Miller concluded his remarks by adding: “Then other players just up their game a wee bit more. I think there was a real control and quality in Scotland last night.”
