Police have reported that a man sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized following an assault in Leicester. The incident occurred on Tuesday around 18:15 GMT when the victim was confronted by three individuals emerging from a residence on Clifton Road. He was then pursued into Lansdowne Road, where he was assaulted with a baseball bat. According to officers, the suspects also caused damage to a vehicle that the victim had flagged down in an attempt to escape. No occupants of the car sustained injuries. The victim, identified as being in his 40s, was transported to the hospital with a head injury and leg fractures. His condition is not considered life-threatening. Police stated that the victim was attacked after he went to investigate a disturbance at an adjacent property. The suspects, who fled the scene on foot, are described as being in their late 20s to early 30s, approximately 5ft 6in tall, with a stocky build, beards, and short black hair, and were wearing dark clothing. Lansdowne Road was closed between Saffron Lane and Lorrimer Road as officers conducted their investigation at the location.
