Unbeaten lightweight boxer Caroline Dubois, who secured the WBC interim lightweight title in August by outpointing Maira Moneo, is scheduled to compete against Jessica Camara in Sheffield on 11 January, as she progresses towards a world-title opportunity. Dubois, boasting a perfect record of 10 professional victories, will meet the Canadian former world-title challenger at the Canon Medical Arena. The 23-year-old London native has expressed intentions to challenge Doncaster’s WBO champion Terri Harper and has also previously issued a challenge to Irish superstar Katie Taylor, holder of the WBA and WBC belts. Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom stated, “Caroline has a big future ahead of her. She has her sights set on world titles and unifications but will need to be at her best to overcome an experienced, world-level operator.” Camara’s professional record stands at 14 wins and four losses, which includes a defeat to WBO light-welterweight champion Kali Reis in 2021. The event’s main attraction will feature unbeaten super-middleweight Callum Simpson, who is set to make his initial defence of the British and Commonwealth title against Steed Woodall. The 28-year-old, who maintains an undefeated record across 15 bouts, claimed the title in August at Barnsley Football Club’s Oakwell Stadium by defeating Zak Chelli via decision. Simpson further commented, “Yorkshire has such a proud boxing history. I want to do the county proud and add to that.”
