A bridge that has sustained damage is scheduled for a five-day closure to all vehicular traffic to facilitate necessary repairs. Cumberland Council announced that Sebergham Bridge will be inaccessible to allow for the repair of its parapet wall. The local authority specified that a segment of the B5305 will be closed to all traffic, including emergency service vehicles, starting from November 18. A clearly marked alternative route will be provided, and local waste collection services are also anticipated to be impacted. The council indicated that while repair work will occur during daylight hours, the roadway will remain shut to traffic for the entirety of the closure period. Any waste collections that are missed as a result of the closure will recommence in the week following the repairs.
