Law enforcement officials have dismissed any connection between two separate acts of vandalism targeting residential buildings in the heart of Bradford. Both incidents involved the use of red paint and the inscription of the words ‘brothel’ or ‘borthel’ along with some numbers, applied with black spray paint, onto walls or windows. While the affected locations, Stone Street and Rawson Place, are geographically close, the occurrences were separated by over a month. West Yorkshire Police reported that no suspects have been identified for the initial incident, but two individuals are currently being sought in relation to the second. Andrew Mitchell, who owns an apartment in Stonegate House on Stone Street, the site of the first attack on September 27, commented: “We don’t really know what these people are getting at. “Whether they’re claiming there’s a brothel in the place or a ‘borthel’, as they’re calling it. “We’ve looked into this and had the police go in there and they claim that they’ve not found anything.”” Mr. Mitchell, aged 67, acquired his flat upon the complex’s completion in 2006. He stated: “Over the last decade we’ve had nothing but vandalism. We just can’t seem to get any headway with this. It’s just been deteriorating, it’s been degraded.” The retired engineer, who currently leases his residence, expressed skepticism regarding the absence of a connection between the incidents. He further remarked: “It’s a strange one isn’t it? ‘Borthel’ – brothel spelt wrongly, and you look at the lettering in both incidents and it’s very similar writing.”I mean, two incidents where red paint’s thrown and the word ‘borthel’ is used. Not linked? There’s got to be something there hasn’t there?”” The second assault on a residential building in Rawson Place occurred during the night of November 13-14, impacting the Bradford Dementia Hub offices situated on the ground floor of the structure. The organization itself has been excluded as a target. A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police commented: “No suspect has been identified in the Stonegate House incident.”There is nothing to suggest a link between that incident in Stone Street from September and the one in Rawson Place.”There is an ongoing investigation and two males, dressed in black clothing, have been seen on CCTV.” She added that authorities are soliciting any information from the public.
