Burnley manager Scott Parker described his team’s midfield choices as a “good problem” in anticipation of Saturday’s match against Stoke City. Following the Clarets’ decisive 2-0 win over Coventry City on Tuesday, which marked their third straight league victory, the former England international acknowledged that the squad’s recent displays have presented him with a difficult selection decision. Speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire, Parker stated, “I’m very happy, I think there’s a real balance there in terms of attributes in the different players.” He further elaborated, “There’s decisions to be made in terms of game profile and what we need.” For Tuesday’s game, Parker chose Hannibal Mejbri and Josh Laurent. However, for the upcoming Saturday fixture, he also has the option of deploying Josh Cullen and club captain Josh Brownhill in midfield, with Brownhill anticipated to be cleared for play for the journey to Staffordshire. Parker further commented on his players, saying, “Hannibal’s come out the team and then come back in the team the last couple of games and done extremely well, he brings a different energy.” He concluded, “Along with the other boys Josh Laurent, and the ones who have been mainstays for large parts, so, good problems for me to have certainly and it gives us a real depth in our squad in them areas.”
