A murder inquiry has commenced following the discovery of a man’s body in a hotel room, which bore “a number of stab wounds”. Lancashire Police reported that officers were dispatched to The Garfield Hotel on Springfield Road in Blackpool on Sunday, after receiving a concern for welfare call. The deceased, identified as Kevin Price, 59, a resident of the hotel, was found within, with police confirming he had “suffered a number of stab wounds”. Detective Chief Inspector Simon Pritchard issued a statement, saying: “A murder investigation is underway and enquiries are ongoing. I would appeal to anyone who can help us to get in touch.” He further appealed for public assistance, specifically stating: “I am especially keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around The Garfield Hotel on Springfield Road between Thursday last week and Sunday.” Detective Chief Inspector Pritchard also expressed that his “thoughts are with Kevin Price’s loved ones at this time”.
