Man Charged in Fatal Dudley Hit-and-Run; Victim Identified as Salma Rafique

Authorities have filed charges against an individual following a fatal hit-and-run collision in Dudley. The deceased has been identified by police as Salma Rafique, aged 27, who was hit by a vehicle while on a pedestrian crossing located on Thorns Road, Quarry Bank, close to Brierley Hill. Tyrone Moran, 19, faces a charge of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the incident, which occurred on 29 September 2023. Mr. Moran, a resident of Oldwinsford, is scheduled to make an appearance at Wolverhampton Crown Court at a later date. Ms. Rafique suffered critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the location of the crash. West Midlands Police previously stated that the vehicle involved was discovered abandoned in the vicinity following the collision, and the driver subsequently presented themselves at a police station where they were taken into custody.
