An individual who has cultivated friendships with over 100 dogs during his daily excursions has captured their images for a forthcoming charity calendar. Tim Hart fosters these canine connections by offering treats he carries in his pocket during his walks near Beverley Beck in East Yorkshire. This calendar is intended to generate funds for the Candlelighters cancer charity, a decision prompted after Mr. Hart learned about Aalia, a young girl also from East Yorkshire, who suffers from a rare condition known as Wilms tumour. He stated, “The poor girl is only four and can’t do anything to help herself, but we can.” Candlelighters, an organization with nearly five decades of experience assisting children impacted by cancer, has been providing support to Aalia and her relatives. Despite his affinity for dogs, Mr. Hart does not own one himself, as his apartment building prohibits pets. Consequently, he has gained considerable popularity among the dogs he encounters during his daily excursions. Sarah Hill, proprietor of a local dog-boarding establishment, commented, “All the dogs absolutely love him.” She further characterized the charity as a “really worthy cause.” Simon Heath, another local individual who walks dogs, lauded the calendar as a brilliant idea. He noted that his dogs, Maeve and Maisy, typically exhibit good behavior, but they invariably rush towards Tim upon seeing him to receive treats. He remarked, “It just sums up the Beverley Beck dog-walking area,” adding, “It’s a really nice community.” Mr. Hart confirmed that the entire £7 price of each calendar would be donated to the charity. Individuals interested in purchasing a calendar can locate him on social media platforms or encounter him during his walks in the Beverley Beck vicinity. Tom Robertshaw, who serves as the head of fundraising for Candlelighters, commented, “Families face huge challenges when their child is diagnosed, and we provide a wide range of emotional, practical and financial support to help lighten the load. “This support is only possible thanks to the fantastic fundraising efforts of individuals, businesses and communities from across the region. “Brilliant people like Tim are the ones who ensure that families don’t face this journey alone and we are so grateful for this support.”
